Are you still undecided on which strand to
take? Do you still have doubts if that strand you're taking up fits your dream
career or skills? Do you still have a lot of questions about the academic
tracks available? This K-12 blog series is for you.
Since its approval in 2013, the K-12 system
has created changes in the way high school students are trained not only for
educational advancement but for possible employment as well. The K-12 program
basically added two more academic school years to the then-existing 10-year
pre-university format of secondary education institutions. With goals of
achieving educational equity, the K-12 program aims to equip students with the
much-needed skills to gain employment even without a college degree.
As a student too, I am recommending the GAS track.
The question is, why I'm choosing this track? This is the reason why.
GAS (General Academics Strand) is the most
flexible strand among the four strands offered in the Academic Track because
students get to learn and experience something from all the other strands. GAS
is essentially for students who are undecided on which strand to take.
The advantage being a General Academic
student is that you'll be able to know and explore new things like what other
tracks cannot. It helps us to decide what to go to college and also general academic
is a big help to improve our speaking skills and communicating skills.
Being
a General Academic student is fun and crazy, you'll be able to experience
everything crazy about life and in school.
